Latest functional changes to PresentationTimer
A concise record of functional timer changes: host controls, agenda, moderator and speaker views, synchronization, and reliability.
On Operator, the white triangle on the progress bar now travels with remaining time after Start. It had been waiting for Pause before jumping to the new position. Pause, Reset, and the rest of the console are unchanged.
A custom Display with a fixed canvas, such as 9:16, now keeps a solid background color on that canvas instead of filling the whole projector window. Image backgrounds already letterboxed; solid color now matches. Default still fills the device.
Resizing a text element on the Display Studio canvas now scales its type the same way a timer already did. The Size slider on the right follows the new size, so Message, Segment name, and Speaker no longer stay locked to the slider alone.
Hover a connected Display, Speaker, Moderator, Agenda, or Operator in Host to see a scaled live preview of that output. The thumbnail follows the same screen as the device, including a custom Display layout, the current message, flash, and blackout, without opening the Outputs dialog.
A custom Display can now place more than one timer on the same screen. Each timer uses the same countdown, but can show Countdown, Count up, Time of Day, or one of the combined readings from the same list used in Host and Plan. The choice stays on that Display and does not change the timer setting.
When Follow warning color is on, a custom Display timer now uses the same Safe, Warning, and Danger colors as the first visible progress bar or ring. Overtime uses the Danger color. Hiding or removing the progress widget keeps the original fixed colors.
Host can now select several timers at once. Choose Select at the top of the timer list, check the timers you want, then open the overflow menu to clone, move, delete, or change Agenda flow. Start after previous is the same live setting as Timer settings: the next timer starts when the previous one reaches 0:00, and the connector appears between the two cards.
When a room has two or more timers, Host now shows a thin session bar between the live preview and the timer list. It follows the combined planned length, moves only while a timer is running, and stays still during pauses or gaps between timers.
Starting the next timer no longer reuses the previous timer's overtime flash. Each flash now stays with the timer that triggered it, so a new segment follows its own Start, Yellow, Red, and Overtime settings.
Hover the gap between two Host timer cards to show the Linked Start connector, then click the line to make the lower timer start when the previous timer reaches 0:00. The same live setting appears in Host Quick Design, Timer settings, Plan, and Plan settings. Click the connector again to remove the automatic start.
A saved custom Display now opens on the shared Display link, including projectors and other venue devices. Live Display stays read-only. If the layout cannot load, the room falls back to the default Display instead of showing a blank screen.
A custom Display background image can now be dimmed so remaining time stays readable from the back of the room. Cover and Contain still choose how the photo fills the canvas. Solid color and transparent canvases are unchanged. Save still publishes the layout to the live Display.
Outputs now shows how many custom Displays the current plan can keep. Pro can edit one layout in place. Adding another screen is marked Premium. Free Customize still opens a greyed Studio preview with a Pro banner, instead of sending people away to pricing.
Custom Display can now keep the adaptive default screen, or lock a fixed canvas for a projector, confidence monitor, tablet, or phone. Fixed layouts scale as a whole and do not stretch. Default still fills the device the way the current Display does.
Pro Display layouts can now use one custom logo and one background image, or keep a solid or transparent canvas. Extra uploads stay available as a Premium upgrade, while images already in the library can still be selected.
Custom Display progress can now be a bar or a ring. Elapsed time stays transparent so the canvas shows through. The bar can keep its triangle marker; the ring uses a small circular marker that travels with remaining time.
Display Studio can now move and resize the timer, segment name, speaker, message, and room clock on the canvas. Choose from 15 distinct, self-hosted fonts, then set size, weight, color, and alignment. Venue Display devices load the same faces without calling Google Fonts.
Host can now open Display Studio from Outputs and preview a custom audience screen without leaving the live room. The default Display still works when no custom layout is attached. Free accounts can look around Studio with controls locked; Pro can save one branded Display.
Agenda planning now uses the full screen instead of a nested card or table. Each item is a timeline row that shows the same details as Host: start time, duration, speaker, notes, colored labels, and Linked Start. Opening Plan resumes a local draft immediately, and Host and Plan now share one timer settings editor.
The Host preview progress bar can now be dragged to jump remaining time. Hovering reveals a ruler under the bar, aligned to the same width, so you can click or drag to a new position without opening Time adjustments.
New Pro and Premium Timers now start with practical visual cues for the room: Off at Start, then 1-second, 3-second, and 3-second flashes for Yellow, Red, and Overtime. Timing teams get the default alerts, while the audience-facing Display receives visual cues without unexpected sound.
Host and Moderator can now flash the current on-screen message the same way the timer number flashes. Click once to start, click again to stop. The live pulse follows Display, Speaker, and the Host preview without changing the saved Room.
Host and Operator can now black out every Display without pausing the timer. The audience screen goes empty for a break, source change, or OBS capture, while Host, Operator, Speaker, Moderator, and Agenda keep seeing the live clock.
We introduced Operator, a dedicated first-class role tailored for tablets and mobile devices. Built for live event directors, webinar managers, and stage runners, the Operator console provides large tactile controls, instant timer adjustments, seamless segment switching, and screen wake lock protection—without cluttering the view with room settings or audience messages.
Moderator now reuses the compact Host message panel, so sending a note and managing audience questions no longer requires a separate message workflow. The active message is rendered from the shared Room state in the Moderator timer, Agenda timer, Host preview, Display, and Speaker views.
Display, Speaker, Moderator, Agenda, and Output previews now use the same green, yellow, and red progress bar, so every view can follow the current timer position at a glance.
Host can now manage shared devices from one compact window. Select one or many Operator, Display, Speaker, Moderator, or Agenda devices to disconnect, reconnect, or remove them without leaving the live room.
You can now update a timer's title, Speaker, Notes, and color labels from the card pencil without opening the full settings panel. Those details stay synchronized across the Host card, Agenda, Moderator and Speaker next-segment cards, while Display keeps its focus on the timer and current Speaker.
Host dialogs and menus now close when you click the surrounding blank space or move to another part of the page, so you can get back to the live room without hunting for a close button.
Display now shows the current timer name centered above the countdown, so speakers and audiences can immediately tell which segment is running without moving the time itself.
Invite the audience with a QR code or link, receive questions in one compact Messages queue, and show one question at a time on the existing timer Display. The Host and Moderator stay in control without a separate presentation workflow.
Quick Design is now a compact shortcut from the timer duration, and Host Settings and Plan use the same clear timing choices. Existing saved timers remain compatible while new edits use the simpler Duration and Target time language.
Timer alerts now flash the time digits instead of the whole timer, with a clearer Host control for an immediate manual flash. Pro hosts can choose how long each Start, Yellow, Red, and Overtime flash lasts, including continuous flashing, while every shared timer view can receive the cue.
Shared live views now keep the current segment focused on the name and remaining time. Status still shows through the timer color, without extra labels such as Current segment, Live now, Idle, or On track.
Host can now set a custom quick step or an exact remaining time by adjusting hours, minutes, and seconds directly, instead of typing a time format during a live session.
Each room now has a dedicated Outputs workspace for preparing Operator, Display, Speaker, Moderator, and Agenda views without leaving the live Host timer. Share the right view with the right person or screen, then manage that link in one place.
Host now keeps the room name and live controls in focus, while Display includes a one-click fullscreen control for shared screens. The fullscreen button also makes it easy to return to the regular view when the session changes.
Pro rooms can now configure what happens at Start, Yellow, Red, and Overtime. Choose from 12 distinct Chimes, enable a single visual Flash per stage, and decide whether each effect reaches Host, Operator, Speaker, Display, Moderator, or Agenda.
Agenda planning now keeps editing separate from the read-only Run of Show. You can pause editing and return to the agenda without losing the browser draft, then resume when ready. CSV v3 carries advanced wrap-up settings between sessions.
Timer cues now behave consistently through pauses, resets, reconnects, background-tab recovery, and settings changes. Saved Room reopening and WebSocket close handling were also hardened to prevent confusing lost-room or send-after-close errors.
Pro hosts can now prepare an agenda around the real event clock. Schedule a segment to start at a specific time, choose a fixed End at time when a hard stop matters, and let the Room keep that timing even when Host and Display are not left open.
Bring a run of show into PresentationTimer, take it back out, or prepare the next session without rebuilding it from scratch. CSV now preserves the timing and item settings that matter for a live event, while keeping import changes safely in a draft until you save.
Pro rooms now have a focused Plan workspace for preparing a complete agenda before the event goes live. Build and adjust the sequence in a private draft, then publish the whole approved plan together when you are ready.
Hosts can now run a live agenda from a compact player-style control bar: move between agenda items, start or pause the active timer, and correct time without opening full timer settings. Every shared view follows the same room state.
Moderator and agenda pages now stay aligned with host and speaker timing by showing the actual start time after a segment begins. Agenda also keeps that timestamp as part of each started item in the timeline.
Hosts can now choose how each timer appears across the display, speaker, moderator, agenda, and host preview screens. The new options support countdowns, elapsed time, room-clock combinations, and a standalone room clock.
